Who We Are
Halfway River First Nation is located 75km northwest of Fort St. John, British Columbia., in the Halfway River valley. We are a proud, self-sustaining community with a long history, and deep cultural roots to the territory. Halfway River First Nation is a leader in working collaboratively with industry, and holds a long established and successful record of strong relationship building with the various industry and resource based companies working in the Halfway River traditional territory. Given the importance of positive relationships with industry and its impact on the community, Halfway River First Nation created a new organization—the Halfway River Group—dedicated to create greater efficiency and services while maintaining our cultural values and respect for our community.
The Halfway River Group is our innovative model of future economic growth and opportunity for Halfway River First Nation. The Halfway River Group leads a collection of limited partnerships. These partnerships are majority owned by Halfway River First Nation. To ensure the requirements of the partnership are being met, our partnerships appoint Board of Directors for each entity to oversee the operation of the company. These successful partnerships led by the Halfway River Group will create financial prosperity, job opportunities and bring people from different cultures together to achieve a common goal.
